Y.A.L.E. School Philadelphia values the dignity of every child. Our staff promotes a culture that celebrates self-worth across every classroom and school activity. We also appreciate the importance of involving students in the larger community, where they may contribute their unique talents and gifts toward a common goal. Above all, we salute our students’ differences and their right to self-determine a future that is meaningful and purposeful, supported and encouraged by those who love them.
We want all of our students to feel safe at Y.A.L.E. School. We don’t allow students to bully, harass, or intimidate a classmate or the staff.
Here’s what we do to help make our school safe for everyone:
We teach skills that students need to resolve conflicts via weekly social skills classes.
Teachers and counselors help students practice those learned skills so students can interact with each other respectfully.
Our campus has a clear process if a problem occurs. Students, parents, and staff are encouraged to report any bullying they experience or see by filling out a Bullying Form. Students of every developmental ability are supported as needed in this process.
