Current Parent Notices

April 27, 2021

Dear Parents & Guardians:

As per CDC guidance, please note the following for fully vaccinated students who are two weeks past their final dose:

· Fully vaccinated students can travel within the U.S., without getting tested for the coronavirus or quarantining. Students should still wear a mask, socially distance and avoid crowds, the agency says.

· Fully vaccinated students do not have to notify the administration of any travel within the United States.

· For international travel, the agency says vaccinated people do not need to get a COVID-19 test before leaving, unless the destination country requires it.

· For travelers coming into the U.S., vaccinated people should still get a negative COVID-19 test before boarding a flight and be tested three to five days after arrival. They do not need to quarantine. The agency noted the potential introduction of virus variants and differences in vaccine coverage around the world for the cautious guidance on overseas travel.

· Fully vaccinated students do not need to stay away from others (quarantine) or get tested if you have been around someone who has COVID-19, unless you have symptoms.

· Fully vaccinated students do not have to notify the administration of any household members or close contacts who engage in travel.

Sincerely,

Y.A.L.E. School Administrative Team

Notification of Positive COVID-19 Case at Y.A.L.E. School Philadelphia

Dear Parents & Guardians:

This letter is to inform you that an individual at Y.A.L.E. School Philadelphia campus has tested positive for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). This does not affect in-person instruction at any other Y.A.L.E. School campus. The Y.A.L.E. School Administrative Team is working closely with public health officials and following federal, state, and local health department guidance to ensure the health and safety of our community.

If your student is determined to have had close contact with anyone who tested positive for COVID-19, you will be notified directly via email or a phone call. We ask for your patience as we complete our investigation and outreach. No further action is required if you do not receive additional notification.

Cleaning and disinfecting of all exposed areas is underway. In addition, our campus takes systematic precautions to prevent the introduction and spread of viruses and other germs through air purifying equipment installed in common areas and nurses offices. Y.A.L.E. schools are also cleaned on a regular schedule by professional services using processes and products advised by the Center for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) to mitigate COVID-19 transmission risks.

The status of this situation is fluid, and we are monitoring it closely. We encourage parents, guardians and students to review and follow the latest guidelines recommended by the CDC:

Ø Any child with COVID-19 compatible symptoms should not return to school until they have either received a negative viral test (molecular or antigen) for SARS-CoV-2 or they have completed an isolation period of at least 10 days since symptom onset and at least 24 hours after resolution of fever without fever-reducing medications with symptom improvement.

Ø A purely clinical alternative diagnosis is no longer acceptable.

Ø Wait 5-7 days after being exposed to COVID-19 to get tested.

Ø While you wait to get tested, quarantine at home and stay away from others.

Ø After testing, quarantine at home and stay away from others while awaiting results.

We appreciate the support and cooperation of our Y.A.L.E. School family. The health of our students, staff and their families is our number one priority. Please assist us by remaining vigilant, but sensible, in your approach to dealing with this health concern. Below are some resources that might be helpful to you.

Should you have any questions about this situation, please feel free to contact your child’s homeroom teacher who will direct your inquiry to the appropriate Y.A.L.E. staff.

Sincerely,

Y.A.L.E. School Administrative Team
