Holiday Travel

November 16, 2020

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As Thanksgiving and the holiday season approaches, we would like to say a most sincere “Thank You” to our parents and students.  The Y.A.L.E. community has truly come together to keep our schools as safe as possible by following health and safety protocols.

Realizing that the holidays are traditionally a time for travel and visiting, we would like to remind Y.A.L.E. families of the Pennsylvania Department of Health’s Travel Information to share with anyone who may be planning a visit this season.

  • All individuals traveling from states with a significant spread of the COVID-19 virus are asked to follow PA-DOH recommendations that they not travel to Pennsylvania.
  • If your family travels to any of the states at the link above, the PA-DOH recommends that you stay at home to quarantine for 14 days upon your return.
  • In addition, the PA-DOH discourages non-essential travel to the neighboring states of Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Ohio and West Virginia, which also meet travel advisory criteria.

Should a student need to quarantine, Y.A.L.E. School enables that student to transition to 100% remote learning during that time period by contacting the Y.A.L.E. School secretary at the Philadelphia campus.

Families may also want to refer to the information offered by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for hosting or attending holiday gatherings.  Although the holiday season will be different in many respects this year, we hope that families find new and rewarding ways to celebrate and connect with loved ones.  We also thank you again for your ongoing efforts to contribute to the health and safety of our school community.
